Be Bold, Fearless, and Curious

Teaching Philosophy.

As a teaching artist, I encourage students to be bold, fearless, and curious, using performance tools as transferable life skills—helping them become thoughtful collaborators, adaptable problem-solvers, and dynamic decision-makers in any room they enter.

My teaching blends experiential, hands-on learning with lecture-based instruction to encourage both practice and analysis, helping students develop a deeper understanding of acting.

Testimonials.

“It is obvious that Sofia has a gift of teaching to those who have an interest in the subject. Her breadth and depth of knowledge in theatre is well founded and she has the soft skills that are essential in educational positions.”

“…Opened things up for the undergrad actors to contribute an exercise of their own — that was great company-building and a lot of fun to watch them lead themselves.”

“…Made the course very valuable for me. I really depend on how good and kind a teacher is in order for me to do well.”
